Ajax by Sophocles
Open Circle Theater presents Ajax by Sophocles adapted by our very own Todd van der Ark.
Ten years of a bloody war in the desert of Troy have finally taken their toll. Ajax, one of the greatest soldiers in the Greek coalition, is driven mad by the death of his cousin, Achilles, and the humiliation of losing Achilles' prized armor to Odysseus. Unhinged, he seeks revenge in a most brutal and horrifying way, putting his entire military career and his very life on the line. Will the love of his family be enough to save Ajax from self-destruction or will the war claim another casualty? This new adaption takes a modern look at Sophocles' classic story of the physical and mental devastation of war.
