NOW Extended run! July 19, 20, 21 at 8 pm added!
"...an evening that surprises and delights." Peter Bergman- The Advocate
Walking the dog Theater opens its second production of its 2007 10th anniversary theater season with âCyranoâ, in a new adaptation by Jo Roets of the classic play by Edmond Rostand. Directed by Drama Desk-nominated director Lenard Petit and featuring Melania Levitsky as Cyrano, David Anderson as Roxane, and Benedicta Bertau as Christian.
DIRECTIONS: The BASILICA INDUSTRIA is located past the AMTRAK station in Hudson, it is the old industrial brick building on the LEFT as you have passed the parking lots and crossed the rail road tracks.
This fresh and playful adaptation of the classic play âCyrano de Bergeracâ by Edmond Rostand holds all the magic, humor, romance, and tragedy of the original play while paring it down to 80 minutes and the skills of only 3 actors. There is love, violence, poetry and laughter. The family appropriate play tells the story about the brilliant swordsman and poet with an extraordinarily large nose. Cyrano loves Roxane, but she canât see past his nose. He helps the handsome but artless Christian win Roxaneâs heart by writing love letters for him. But it is Cyrano, the passionate man Roxane meets in the letters, whom she truly loves.
