At the rate we are presently using our ocean resources, many experts believe that by 2050 there will no longer be edible fish available thereâ"bluntly, zero fish in the seas. This documentary takes a hard look at some of the results of overfishing and what it may hold for the future. Specific issues covered include the imminent extinction of bluefish tuna, in part a result of sushi catching on in the western hemisphere; the effects of an enormous overpopulation of jellyfish; and speculation on what the world would be like without fish. The film also brings to light some of the grotesque but standard practices of deep-sea fishing.
