All's Well That Ends Well at Luther Burbank Park
Freehold Theatre's Ensemble Training Intensive (ETI) program presents their capstone production of Shakespeare's All's Well That Ends Well. This 90-minute performance of Shakespeare's satirical comedy is the culmination of ten months of study under Seattle's finest theatre professionals including Amy Thone, Hal Ryder, Paul Budraitis, John Jacobsen, Cathy Madden and Donald Byrd.

In the tradition of many of Shakespeare's comedies, All's Well illuminates both the beauty and ferocity of human nature. The title alludes to the Elizabethan phrase "all's well with the dead," which puts a morbid spin on a play known for its acerbic humor, witty clowns and larger-than-life characters. Melding the contemporary and classical in a setting designed to imagine modern-day France as if the French Revolution had never happened, this production features a high-fashion sensibility juxtaposed with dire poverty and is performed entirely by the diverse company of Freehold's Ensemble Training Intensive. All's Well is directed by Julliard (BFA in Acting) and UW (MFA in Directing) graduate Andrew McGinn, with choreography and movement by Spectrum Dance Theater's Donald Byrd.

Freehold's Ensemble Training Intensive is the only ten-month certificate training intensive in the Pacific Northwest. This year's ensemble is comprised of eleven students who have made an extraordinary commitment to the art of acting and to each other. The faculty is comprised of world-class professional artists at the top of their craft, who possess many years of experience in their field in addition to their teaching qualifications.

The production will run at 12th Avenue Arts June 11th-14th, then at Luther Burbank Park on Mercer Island on June 15th, and finally at Echo Glen Children's Center, a youth detention facility, in Snoqualmie on June 16th. Performing for communities with little access to live theatre is an important part of the ETI program, as Freehold believes that performing for people in extraordinary circumstances challenges the artist to be more honest and generous in their playing. All performances are pay-what-you-can.

This year's ETI members: Marie Bolla, Linda Cleckler, David Cravens-O'farrell, Noelle Mestres, Brace Evans, Janet Hietter, Dara Lillis, Fernando Luna, Ellen Adell McMahon, Aaron Moore, Laura A. Nelson
