Ankur Productions in association with the Embrace Project and Friends of Romano Lav
Rap of Life and Romane Cierhenia
Created by Young People Army, Ankur Ensemble and Bigg Taj
Directed by Alasdair Hunter
Rap of Life follows the journey of a group of young people in Govanhill: their arrival, the challenges they face as they grow up, and their hopes and dreams for the future. Like their hero Tupac, they find strength through singing, dancing and rapping as they work towards trust, respect and peace.
This devised performance based on the stories of the ensemble is an exciting blend of drama, dance, hip-hop, graffiti and film with a party atmosphere.
This will be followed by performances of traditional Roma dance and music by the Polish Roma group Romane Cierhenia.
