Taking Great Nature Photos -- Jerry Kirkhart
An outdoor adventure through The Los Osos Oaks Preserve awaits you and your camera. Naturalist and photo instructor, Jerry Kirkhart, will lead you on a two hour workshop guiding you through the Preserve as he presents his expert tips about taking successful nature photos in shady conditions.
You will learn techniques for understanding lighting, composition, point of view and camera settings using a digital single lens reflex.
If you have a tripod, macro lens and external flash, bring them to this workshop.
Although this course will focus on SLR techniques, we encourage people with less complicated cameras (point & shoot and cell phones) to attend--you will pick up helpful hints, especially about composition.
Everyone will enjoy this time in the Preserve and come away with knowledge to enhance their photography abilities.
Jerry Kirkhart is a retired high school and college Zoology/Biology instructor. He has taught photo classes for the Morro Bay Natural History Museum and the Morro Photo Expo. For examples of his work, visit www.flickr.com/photos/jkirkhart35/
