Faction of Fools' Spring 2011 Master Training Workshop in Commedia dell'Arte
Faction of Fools, DC's Commedia dell'Arte theatre company, is pleased to announce the return of its Master Training Workshops with Artistic Director Matthew R. Wilson.
Wilson studied Commedia dell'Arte in Italy with Antonio Fava, and for six years he was an instructor at Fava's school in Reggio-Emilia. He has performed and taught at theatres, universities, and festivals across Europe and the United States, including at programs like NYU's Tisch School of the Arts, Columbia University, and the Academy for Classical Acting.
This Master Training Class series will focus on the the movements of classical Commedia dell'Arte characters as well as vocal work and weight-sharing/lifts/carries. The course will culminate with a series of improvised scenarios and lazzi.
