Tix: $10.40 and $10.99 in honor of Tax Day.
Comedians: DIANE AMOS is a San Francisco-based actress and comedian who had a unique upbringing: she was raised in a household with lesbian mothers, one African-American and one Jewish. For the past 17 years, Diane has been The Pine Sol Lady in their national commercials. She has appeared in numerous films including Nine Months, Copycat, Angels in the Outfield, EDTV, and Twisted with Samuel Jackson and Ashley Judd. Diane was a semi-finalist in Star Search; has been on A& E's Evening at The Improv, Lifetime's Girls' Night Out and Comedy Central's Women Aloud. In addition, Diane has been a winner on the game shows: Wheel of Fortune, $25,000 Pyramid, and Super Password. She is the mother of two and wife of one.
YAYNE ABEBA is a native San Franciscan of Ethiopian descent. She recently starred in her own one-hour TV special "Africa Laughs with Yayne Abeba" on the Africa Channel, which broadcasts throughout the US, the UK, and the Carribean. Yayne began studying acting at the Jean Shelton Actor's Lab in 1995 and was bitten by the comedy bug four years later at The Luggage Store. Realizing that there was no cure, she accepted her fate and has since been touted as one of San Francisco's up and coming comedians. Her style is fresh, innovative, cutting edge and just damn funny. She won The 2002 Russian River Comedy Competition and competed in several SF International Comedy Competitions as well as the Seattle Comedy Competition.
RAY FERRER is a Bay Area-based humorist and drag performer (Coco Lopez) who has presented his work along the East Coast and in Puerto Rico. Locally, Ray has performed at QComedy, Writers with Drinks, The Castro Street Fair, Funny Girlz, and various other sundry comedy/spoken word venues. Ray's comedy looks at how hilarious it is to be Cuban, Irish and queer. Ray is the host of the monthly "Dynasty Night," an evening of costume-wearing, camp-loving TV-watching in a Beaux Arts mansion on Lake Merritt in beautiful Oakland.
JEFF APPLEBAUM's comedy examines his particular life experiences which include being the only white kid on his Little League team in Queens, New York, having a Chinese wife who orders from take-out menus in fluent Mandarin, and raising a teenage son who calls himself "Jewnese" because he says it sounds better than "Chine-ish." Jeff recently made his national US TV debut on the Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson. He has also opened for and performed with comic legends including Robert Klein, Richard Lewis, Robin Williams, and Kevin Pollak. Jeff was cast by Sandy Hackett, the son of the late Buddy Hackett, to play the principal role of Joey Bishop in the long-running musical tribute "The Rat Pack Is Back" in San Francisco, Chicago, Manchester, NH, and Las Vegas. Jeff also appears in the film "The Pursuit of Happyness" starring Will Smith. Prior to comedy, Jeff worked as an engineer. He lives with his wife and three children in Silicon Valley. He has an uncanny resemblance to Maxwell Smart of "Get Smart."
LISA GEDULDIG is the creator, producer, & MC of a variety of annual comedy shows: Kung Pao Kosher Comedy; The George Bush Going Away Party; Funny Girlz; A Muslim, A Mormon, and A Jew Walk into A Bar; The Color of Funny; Comedy Returns to El Rio; Cafe con Comedy; Charo...
