Queen rocketed to the top of the rock world in the 1970s with classic hits like as Bohemian Rhapsody, We Will Rock You, and Killer Queen. Brian May and Freddie Mercury gave the band a complex sound that often combined rock with the sounds of classical, gospel, funk, and jazz music. In concert, their rich musical sound was more than matched by the over the top costumes and special effects that helped make them a legendary live act. For more than twenty years, the group never slowed down. They recorded numerous hit songs, including Under Pressure in collaboration with David Bowie. Queen also played huge arena stadiums all across the world, and sold more than 300 million albums and eighteen #1 singles. Queen was voted the Best Rock act of the â70âs by Billboard Magazine.
