Home Benefit Staged Presentation & Reception
Mahogany Ensemble Theatre (MET) in association with Project 1 Voice presents a benefit staged performance of the 1980 Tony Award nominated play, 'Home' by Samm-Art Williams. The performance will be held Monday, June 15, 2015 at 7:30 PM--pre-show reception starts at 6:30 PM at the East Bank Theatre-Bossier City, LA.
This year marks the 25th Anniversary since the Broadway closing of this Tony and Drama Desk Award-nominated play. 'Home', a brilliantly inventive, lyrically expressive play, deals joyfully with the coming of age of a young black man from a country farm in rural South Carolina, to the city, and back home again.
Guest Director Robert Alford has assembled a dynamic ensemble cast to present this 5th Annual Juneteenth Fundraiser. This play is presented in association with the Project1Voice annual event to bring awareness and support of Black Theatre. Mahogany Ensemble Theatre is one of over thirty African American theatre companies and diverse institutions, across the nation, presenting simultaneous staged readings of one play, on one day, in one voice!
Tickets: $20.00 in advance/$25.00 at the door (includes pre-show reception & staged presentation)
All proceeds from this performance will benefit the programming initiatives of Mahogany Ensemble Theatre.
