Tim Harford: Problem-Solving Starts with Failure
When faced with complex problems, we have become accustomed to looking to our leaders for a plan of action. But Tim Harford, Financial Times columnist and author of Adapt, argues that today's challenges simply cannot be tackled with ready-made solutions; the world has become far too unpredictable and complex. Instead, he says, we must figure things out on the front lines and adapt through trial-and-errorimprovise rather than plan; fail, learn, and try againin tackling issues such as climate change, poverty, terrorism, and the financial crisis. Presented by Town Hall, with University Bookstore.
