Introduction to Supplemental Needs Trusts
This course starts with a brief overview of trusts and then focuses on what makes Supplemental Needs Trusts different. We'll discuss the different types of SNTs and how they impact eligibility for a range of different public benefit programs, in particular Medicaid and Supplemental Security Income. The course will include citations to and discussion of case law, statutory, and regulatory authorities governing the use of SNTs.
This course will NOT delve into drafting trust agreements for individual SNTs. For that, and other advanced SNT topics, sign up for our Advanced Supplemental Needs Trusts training.
