FREE Bellevue College Community Planetarium Show: New Horizons
SPRING QUARTER DATES: April 8, May 13, & June 10 SHOW TIMES: 6:30, 7:30, & 8:30 PM
ABOUT "NEW HORIZONS": Join us in the Willard Geer Planetarium at Bellevue College to view the show "New Horizons" and stay to take a brief tour of the night sky using our state-of-the-art Digistar 3 planetarium projector. Each show will last approximately 35-40 minutes.
Embark on a journey to the planets and moons of our solar system. Travel to the surface of all the planets and experience what life would be like on those brave new worlds.
NEW TICKETING PROCEDURES: Please note the new ticketing procedures for the Free Community Planetarium Shows at Bellevue College:
RESERVED SEATS: Forty (40) seats for each show will be released on Brown Paper Tickets (this website) ONE WEEK in advance of each show date starting at 8 AM. For example, you can make reservations for the April 8th shows starting at 8 AM on Friday, April 1. There is a limit of 5 tickets per reservation.
WAITLIST: If you are unable to reserve tickets online, you may sign up for the waitlist outside of the planetarium (Room B244) starting at 6:00 PM the night of each show. All remaining seats in the planetarium (approximately 15-20) per show) will be given out to those on the waitlist on a first-come, first served basis.
Please note that the waitlist will "roll over" for each show. This means that if you weren't able to get into the 6:30 PM show, your seat request will automatically be moved to the 7:30 PM waitlist (and so on).
If you are left on the waitlist at the end of the night, we encourage you to reserve tickets in advance for the next scheduled showing.
**Please note that while we will do our best to accommodate everyone on the waitlist, only the first 15 requests on the waitlist are guaranteed to be admitted to the next show.**
This show is not appropriate for kids under the age of six.
No food or drink is allowed in the planetarium.
Because the room is dark during the show, there is NO late admission.
The Geer Planetarium at Bellevue College is the only community college planetarium in Washington state. The planetarium's Digistar 3 projector can accurately reproduce the night sky any time of the year or night at any location within 900 light years of the Sun. It can show the stars position in three dimensions, and allow realistic journeys through space.
Free community planetarium shows at the Geer Planetarium are sponsored by the Science and Math Institute at Bellevue College.
