"Previously Secret Information" is a modern American storytelling show for grown ups. Somewhere between the most hilarious stand-up comedy and the most revealing solo performance is the art of telling a great story. Each performer draws you in with a simple vivid narrative without Hollywood's special effects. Honest, thoughtful and cathartically funny, these storytellers hold nothing back. With universal themes and a personal ap...proach, this month's show presents the newest breed of comedic storytellers in San Francisco.
P A U L M E Y E R S Is the author of "Todd Rundgren: A Wizard, A True Star In The Studio." He has also written the authorized biography of the "Barenaked Ladies, Public Stunts Private Stories", published in Canada by Madrigal press and in the U.S.A by Simon & Schuster's Fireside Books imprint. ...His second rock biography, "It Ain't Easy: Long John Baldry and the Birth of the British Blues", is published by Greystone Books (Fall 2007).
S I L V I O M E N E N D E Z >> "Entiende?" Silvio, a Spanish Interpreter at a major hospital, helps people understand each other but can't understand himself. Caught between his professional obligations to a family with a dying daughter and his single minded focus to go on a date with a hot doctor, Silvio hides his smoking habit, confides in his own personal Yoda, and gives families tragic news...none of which keep Silvio from a collision course with his destiny.
J O E K L O C E K >> "A Paperboy's Escape to the Land of Plenty: The Mall" Luke Skywalker and I had a lot in common. He craved a life of meaning and excitement. So Did I. He didn't know who his real father was. I was adopted. He lived in a hole in the ground. I lived in Illinois. Star Wars was the first hint in my life of a wider world. When I ran away from home at eleven years old I went in search of that wider world in the one place I felt comfortable. The Mall.
