The Drowsy Chaperone
Roustabout Theater presents Tony Award-winner, "The Drowsy Chaperone" Roustabout Theater, resident theater of Wells Fargo Center for the Arts, and its Apprentice Program present the hilarious Broadway comedy, "The Drowsy Chaperone", a musical so fizzy, tart and intoxicating, "it will have you laughing your socks off." (Chicago Tribune)
Dive into this "delightful, sparkling entertainment" (Associated Press) as our Narrator starts up the cast album of his favorite 1928 Broadway show, "The Drowsy Chaperone". Suddenly, the show comes to life in his on-stage living room. It's a whimsical tale of a Follies starlet giving up the stage for love and all the colorful guests who've gathered for her wedding, including the gin-soaked Chaperone assigned to keep a watchful eye - albeit at half-mast - on this madcap crew.
Winner of five 2006 Tony Awards, including Best Book and Best Original Score, this "clever, gleeful and intelligent" (The New Yorker) show is the most deliciously funny tribute to classic musical comedy ever put on stage. Don't miss it!
