Join AIA|San Diego members as we tour the production facility of the region's most important masonry firm, RCP Block & Brick, in Otay Mesa. Participants will be treated to a small-group interpretive experience that explores the science and art required to meet the today's demanding requirements for these versatile materials. Gain an enhanced understanding of the potential applications for block and brick, particularly in the context of expanding CA Title 24 building requirements as well as an introduction to the impressive range of products now available to designers and contractors. The Otay Mesa area is also the center of a remarkable transformation featuring large public and private investments in transportation infrastructure, higher education and commercial development. As part of the tour experience, these will be reviewed by a locally-based representative from Carrier Johnson + CULTURE, which has a major role in the master planning for Otay Mesa.
