Brooklyn comes to Milwaukee on July 22nd when dream rockers Lazyeyes and garage rockers The Teen Age join local prog-masters Mortgage Freeman at Mad Planet.
LAZYEYES
Lazyeyes is a three-piece from Brooklyn, New York formed in the summer of 2012 by guitarist and vocalist Jason Abrishami (The Twees), Paul Volpe (Triple Cobra) on bass, and Jeremy Sampson (Eastern Hollows) on drums. The band self-released their sophomore EP, 'New Year' in January 2015, which was quickly picked up and reissued by Burger Records cassette imprint, Wiener Records.
Lazyeyes was a featured artist in the November 2014 issue of NME Magazine and, in December, Stereogum described their sound as "a muscular, riff-happy brand of guitar-based dream-pop," going on to proclaim, "their songs burst with angular hooks and polished melodies." Their single, "Adaptation" also received high praise from Interview Magazine, who wrote, "'Adaptation's" fast-paced, garage-tinged guitar riff draws the listener in, propelling you through chorus and verse. It is both urgent and reassuringly familiar."

MORTGAGE FREEMAN Mortgage Freeman has been entertaining Milwaukee with their energetic rock for years, but they hit a new level when they released last year's prog-tastic 'Streetcrusher.' Their shows are nothing short of parties -- equal parts skillful musicianship, witty banter, danceability, and pure energy. They have new songs to play for you, so don't miss them!

THE TEEN AGE
Formed in a Bushwick, Brooklyn basement in late 2012, The Teen Age play a mix of 70s-inspired punk and garage rock, with a nod to classic doo-wop and 60's pop influences. Think the CBGB's grit of the Dead Boys or the drunken-swagger of the Black Lips, mixed with the sing-a-along pop hooks of the Marvelettes or Frankie Lymon & The Teenagers.
The Teen Age made their live debut in 2013 supporting the UK's Palma Violets, and released their first single "Ventura" (recorded at Converse Rubber Tracks in Brooklyn) on PaperCup Music in July 2013. This was followed later that summer by their second single, "Matador," and in 2014 with their debut EP Ways To Adapt, both on PaperCup Music. Over the past couple of years, the band has shared stages with acts like Twin Peaks, Diarrhea Planet, Wytches, Total Slacker, Big Ups, Crocodiles & more, and performed at SXSW, Savannah Stopover, L Magazine's Northside Festival and CMJ.
The band has now teamed up with Old Flame Records for the release of their new Low Cunning 7", which features the brand new single bundled with b-side "Pieces." The 7" will be released on April 7th, and The Teen Age plays a release show at Brooklyn's Shea Stadium that night.
