Montage Resort & Public Beach an ADA
Are you looking for a program to meet the California Architects Board accessibility course requirement? AIAOC is offering you an opportunity to earn 2.0 qualifying units for license renewal.
Attendees will tour the recent completed beach parking structure, public access, and Montage Resort in Laguna Beach. During this approximately one mile walking tour, attendees will learn about ADA applications as they impact the external environment including the implication of ramps, hillside parking, seating, pedestrian pathways, and general movement through a park to a beach.
Attendees will learn about the application of ADA on park like settings and have a hands-on experience to see actual applications good and bad. Attendees will also learn how to modify existing conditions to bring them to code compliance

The tour will begin at the entrance to the public parking structure and end at the beach. Please wear comfortable clothing, and shoes you can walk in and wear on the sand.

Cost:$30 Members $65 Non-Members
Ms. Afshar is an AIA member architect with 30 years of experience in commercial and public facilities with a focus on accessibility. She has been involved with Access related work since 1991. Ms. Afshar is also CID, LEED AP, and CASp certified.
