Warm Edge Technology
Presented by ~
Sierra Pacific Windows
This presentation addresses the different types of spacer bars that are used in insulated glass units (IGU's). The presentation looks at the importance of keeping the temperature at the edge of the glazing, as close as possible to the center of glass temperature. In addition, it covers how some spacers actually conduct heat and cold while others insulate against it and the importance of this feature as it relates to condensation and mold. Also discussed are the structural differences between spacer bars and their relationship to sealant failure, the use of argon gas, the use of IGU's at high altitudes and the mitigating effects on sound transmission that some spacer bars provide
