Event
Flavours of the Danish Southern Islands with Visiting Chef/Author Nethe Plenge
Raised on Denmark's southern island of Lolland og Falster, Nethe Plenge grew up eating the freshest ingredients from the sea, field, garden, and woods. Today Nethe continues to write about these natural ingredients in her local newspaper, Bryggebladet (www.bryggebladet.dk), where she often includes recipes inspired by the local food market. Please join Nethe for an intimate tasting and discussion of her first (and newly translated) cookbook, "Flavours of the Danish Southern Islands", and enjoy these healthful tastes from the land and sea as we go!
*Includes 5 course tasting of the following recipes from her cookbook (please note that menu may vary slightly according to market availability): Fried Filet of Fish with Warm Apple Horseradish Sweet & Sour Apple & Celeriac Salad with Smoked Fish Roe Pink Fish Cakes with Radish & Cucumber Salad Slow-cooked Veal with Cider, Parsnips, Celeriac, Carrots & Onions Macaroon Layer Cake with Strawberries, Almonds & Cream Filling
(Please note that because this event will be held during Passover week, all recipes will be Passover "friendly". If you have any questions about the menu, please email Jennifer Abadi at: jabadi@fistfuloflentils.com)
To view Nethe's website, please go to: http://www.forlagetlofa.dk/
Signed cookbooks will be on sale at the event for $25 (cash only).
This intimate event is limited to 12 people, so sign up early! The exact address of this event will be provided up purchase of a ticket.
