The Countess
The Countess by Gregory Murphy, directed by John Longenbaugh.
The Countess is Gregory Murphy's critically acclaimed drama about art, ideas, love, and betrayal. In 1853 John Ruskin was the most acclaimed critical mind in an era of great thinkers and writers. Everett Millais, co-founder of the Pre-Raphelite Brotherhood, was one of its most promising artists. Accompanied by Ruskin's wife Effie, they took a cottage in the Scottish highlands for four months so that Millais could paint Ruskin's portrait. What happened instead became one of the greatest scandals of the Victorian era. Directed by Babylon's new artistic director John Longenbaugh. A Northwest Premiere!
The cast includes Shawn Law, Mary Anne Brannigan, Matthew Middleton, Susan Alotrico, Karen Jo Fairbrook and Will Rose. Set and light design by Brad Cook, costume design by Theresa Banks, sound design by Bob White.
