Low Cut Connie is bringing a new take on classic, tear-jerkin' rock-n-roll back to the USA and to a night spot near you.
The genesis of Low Cut Connie occurred in summer 2010, when on a co-headline tour in Portugal, two songwriters from opposite sides of The Atlantic decided to join forces and get people dancing and making out again. The eccentric piano-pounder and blues howler from New Jersey known as Ladyfingers (aka Adam Weiner) and the punky bop-cat guitar strummer from Birmingham, England, Swampmeat (aka Dan Finnemore) are definitely a pair of soul brothers from another mother. Both of these musical road warriors have spent the last six years touring the world, grooving and inventing new dance moves in dive bars and juke joints from Green Bay to Sao Paolo. With no more than a vague plan in place, Weiner called up his old buddy Neil Duncan, a reggae/country-soul guitarist who runs a small analog studio called the Vertical Bird in Gainesville, Florida. They set up a session for a Ladyfingers/Swampmeat EP, not realizing that Duncan's bassist buddy, Memphis-born Russell Saliba, would casually show up...and that a sweaty combustion of rock n roll would take place in the swampy Florida heat. The result of five days of nonstop, hysterical, heart-pounding sessions is the record Get Out the Lotion and the birth of a new four-piece band called Low Cut Connie.
Low Cut Connie is definitely dedicated to the Good Time, and hope that this record will make you laugh, maybe cry, dance and kiss-kiss all night long. It's got the sexy rock grooves of "Show Your Face" and "Big Thighs, New Jersey," as well as the swingin honky-tonk platters "Cat & the Cream" and "Darlin" and the make-out-in-the-backseat classic "Full of Joy."
The Connies want to come to your little town ... just to meet you and know you and love you and leave you hot n bothered in the morning light.
