Biog:
Briony Greenhill is a British singer now living in California, where she has become a leading practitioner of the wild, ancient and emerging art of vocal improvisation.
A performing singer since age 11, Briony was awarded the Katherine McGillivray fund in 2012 to travel to America and study vocal improvisation with the field's pioneers, Bobby McFerrin and Rhiannon. She now sings with The Elements Vocal Improvisation Quintet, and teaches internationally.
Briony has been leading group singing for over a decade, working with Pepsi Executives in Poland, the London Design Museum, sustainability architects in Barcelona and school children in East Oakland. She has studied jazz, Indian Classical and Zimbabwean Shona music, been a pop session singer and a lead singer in Indie, trip hop and techno-klezmer bands, as well as a singer-songwriter and a lover of English folk songs.
Vocal improvisation is the most exciting form of singing Briony has ever known. After three years away refining her specialism, Briony is bringing her work home to Britain this summer.
