Swing N2 Spring - OYC's Spring Choral Concert
OYC's 36th annual spring concert has a jazz theme this year. Swing N2 Spring will feature an all-jazz repertoire sung by over 100 Oakland and East Bay children and young men and women in Kindergarten through early college.
Featuring OYC's award-winning Concert Chorus, Chamber Singers, Middle School Magic Chorus, elementary-school Miracle Choruses, and special guest, Chicago Children's Choir's middle school and high school singers. Directed by OYC Artistic Director, LaNell Martin.
OYC's teen Concert Chorus and Middle School Magic Chorus are learning exciting arrangements of jazz classics, and our youngest singers will perform "What a Wonderful World", "Straighten Up and Fly Right" and "Shoo Fly Pie and Apple Pan Dowdy".
OYC's special guests for this concert are 50 middle school and high school singers of the Chicago Children's Choir, which is recognized as one of the nation's finest youth choirs and a premier resource for continuing education in the choral arts for 50 years.
