"Sisters Are Doing It For Ourselves" Bingo
On Saturday, March 26 the Eureka Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence will celebrate 5 years of doing charity work in Humboldt County. The Eureka Sisters will be hosting "Sisters! Doing It For Ourselves!! Bingo". This very special bingo will benefit the Eureka Sisters by replenishing their granting and operating funds.
This bingo is dedicated to the memory of Charles Vaughn who recently died on February 3, 2011. Charles worked as the HIV/AIDS Nurse Case Manager at the Open Door Clinic in Eureka. Charles life was dedicated to improving the lives of those living with HIV/AIDS. As the 80's and AIDS consumed Gay communities, Charles entwined his medical skills with activism; attending conferences and promoting the latest AIDS research for better health care of those stricken with the disease, he was a champion in the medical AIDS community.
Items so generously donated by Charles family will be part of a silent auction. One hundred percent of the auction proceeds will be used to start a new "Charles Vaughn Memorial HIV Prevention Fund".
Please come join us in our celebration of Charles life and our own big 5 birthday.
