Petar Ralchev Quartet - the Bulgarian accordion legend Petar Ralchev and a line-up of outstanding folk musicians - are coming into town on Sat, May 14!
The Quartet will entertain us with a one-hour concert of traditional yet progressive and improvisational Bulgarian folk music with a few surprise excursions into other Balkan and European genres. The concert will be followed by a reception and folk dance with live music by the band (music/dance requests will be welcome).
Concert: 7:30 PM
Dance party: 9:00 PM
Suggested donation (online by May 12/door): $20/$25 at door, $15/$20 off for students and FSGW members, $10 kids under 18
Location: Capitol Hill Presbyterian Church

The Quartet features Petar Ralchev (piano accordion), one of the great masters of Bulgarian and Eastern European instrumental folk and folk-jazz music, joined by three virtuosos of the younger generation of Bulgarian folk musicians: Nikolay Georgiev (guitar), Iliana Marudova-Georgiev (vocals), and Petur Iliev (tupan).
