CIMMfest 2011: Everyday Sunshine - The Story of Fishbone
Everyday Sunshine: The Story of Fishbone Documentary, USA, 103 min., Chicago premiere Directed by Chris Metzler and Lev Anderson
African-American funk/metal band Fishbone seemed perpetually on the verge of becoming huge, charting a couple hits before falling apart just when the music industry and the listening public seemed poised to embrace their unique fusion of ska and metal. This all-access documentary, narrated by Laurence Fishburne, focuses on the band's unceasing quest to follow their muse despite hardships that would make most bands call it a day. Featuring interviews with Gwen Stefani, George Clinton, Flea, and Tim Robbins.
