Meat Workshop I
Join us for an informative, hands-on class on cooking pasture raised beef. We will discuss how pasture raised beef is different from conventionally raised beef and what that means for you as a consumer and a cook. You will learn how to prepare braised chuck roast, perfect for weekend dinners. You will also learn how to prepare quick, worknight meals using different marinades and a quick-cooking process. Meat purveyor: Wettstein Organic Farm. Dennis and Emily Wettstein both grew up on farms, but it was not until 1985 that they chose to become organic farmers. The Wettsteins farm more than 140 acres of land located near Carlock, IL. Emily and Denny sell certified organic beef, pork, poultry and eggs. They also raise organic soybeans, corn and other grains and sell organic feed to other organic livestock and dairy farmers in the area.
