An Evening of Elegance, a special event for the New School of Music
Please be our guest and join friends and family in supporting the New School of Music in continuing with our mission to foster love and understanding in music throughout our community.
On Thursday, May 12th at 6pm, we look forward to seeing you for an evening of exquisite music by NSM pianist Kai-Ching Chang in the nation's oldest piano show room - Steinert Hall in Boston. Program will include Transcriptions of G.F. Handel's "Passacaglia", a world premiere of an interaction piece composed by Ms. Chang and other pieces to be announced.
Doors open at 6pm for a welcome reception; concert will begin at 6:30pm.

Kai-Ching Chang | Piano In 2008, Miss Chang performed in The Town Hall in New York as a finalist in the Newtown Dynasty Television piano competition. As the winner of the Longy Concerto Competition, Miss Chang performed the Shostakovich Piano Concerto No.1 with the Longy Chamber Orchestra in 2008. Miss Chang has performed throughout the North East at venues such as Tanglewood, Symphony Hall, Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum, and Jordan Hall; international venues include château de Fontainebleau (France) and National Concert Hall (Taiwan).An active collaborative pianist, Miss Chang appeared at the International Bowdoin Music Festival in 2007. This past summer, she participated in the music festival at the Fontainebleau School in France, where she was awarded 'Best Chamber Music Performer.' Miss Chang serves as rehearsal pianist for the PALS Children's Chorus in Brookline; this affiliation has led to collaborations with The Boston Symphony Orchestra and the Cantata Singers. Additional chamber collaborations include appearances with Roger Tapping, Sergey Antonov, Jayne West, Robert Honeysucker, Carol McGonell and Meighan Stoops. Miss Chang is a faculty member at the New School of Music and a staff accompanist at The New England Conservatory of Music. B.M. Soochow University, Taipei, 2004; M.M., Piano Performance, The Longy School of Music, 2007; Artist Diploma, Collaborative Piano, Longy 2008. Teachers include Peter Serkin, Wayman Chin, Ingrid Tsung, and Roger Tapping.
