CIMMfest 2011: Keep It Moving
Keep It Moving Documentary, USA, 90 min., world premiere Directed by Amina Norman-Hawkins
In August 2010, three Chicago hip-hop artists toured Cote d'Ivoire as official envoys of the US State Department, conducting workshops on hip-hop's potential to promote peace and tolerance, empower young people, and create social change. Amina Norman-Hawkins, "Coolout" Chris Hawkins, and Angela "Ang13" Zone's experiences as emissaries of change take on new significance in the wake of Cote d'Ivoire's increasingly violent and uncertain future in the wake of disputed presidential elections.
Following the film, Q&A and performance by director/star Amina Norman-Hawkins and stars Chris Hawkins and Angela Zone.
