Join us for a special Holi edition of Bollywood Bhangra. Friday, March 18th, 10pm-3am at Club Hyde, 20 West Louisiana St., Downtown Indianapolis. Admission is $7 at the door. Featuring DJ Kyle Long spinning the best Bollywood and Bhangra.

Holi, also known as the festival of colors, welcomes the arrival of spring and is one of the biggest celebrations in India.

Bollywood Bhangra has quickly established itself as one of the hottest parties in Indianapolis. Last month the event drew a record breaking crowd of 500 plus attendees. Bollywood Bhangra is receiving rave reviews in the press "outrageously fun" and "Indy's best dance party" are just a few of the superlatives local newspapers have used to describe this event.

The terms Bollywood and Bhangra refer to popular forms of dance music originating in India. Bhangra, a blend of Hip-Hop, Dancehall and House with traditional folk music from the Indian region of Punjab, was brought to the attention of the American public by artists like Jay-Z and Timbaland. Bollywood is the name given to the film industry of Mumbai, India. Nearly all the movies produced in Mumbai are musicals, so the term is also applied to the music of these films. The success of Slumdog Millionaire has taken Bollywood music to new heights of popularity.
