CIMMFest 2011: Upside Down: The Creation Records Story
Directed by Danny O'Connor
Scottish transplant Alan McGee found time between shifts at British Rail to found one of the most influential indie labels ever, Creation Records, which gave the world The Jesus and Mary Chain, My Bloody Valentine, and Oasis. Label luminaries like Noel Gallagher of Oasis and Jim Reid of The Jesus and Mary Chain join author Irvine Welsh in recounting Creation's history and legacy, but the real story here is McGee's rollercoaster ride from fan magazine publisher to record industry czar.
