Slow Food NYC Summer Series: Gelato Class
When it's hot outside, we all scream forgelato? Join Slow Food NYC at L'Albero dei Gelati for a gelato-making workshop and tasting. Learn the difference between ice cream, gelato and sorbet and find out what ingredients go into a high-quality gelato. Husband and wife team Alessandro and Monia will show you how to make it (with some hands-on help from the audience that's you!), share their favorite recipes, and offer plenty of gelato tastings both savory and sweet.
L'Albero dei Gelati is a family-owned business that opened in Italy in 1985. Launched in 2013, its Brooklyn outpost uses fresh, organic ingredients from sustainable farmers and small producers, herbs from the backyard garden, and seasonal fruits and vegetables to make its delicious gelato, which is free of flavorings, dyes, preservatives and artificial additives.
