Event
Mexico in May
Spend the day in Pilsen looking at the neighborhood through the eyes of immigrants and natives. Visit the current exhibit at the National Museum of Mexican Fine Arts with a guide, hear a panel of our peers Maria Concannon, Elaine Gonzalez and Violeta Morales talk about culture and taste memories, revealing critical moments in their personal histories.
Transportation will be provided from the Loop and includes an on-board community guide who will speak about immigration patterns and Chicago's history en route as well as encourage conversation about personal culinary and cultural experiences and observations through exercises and activities.
Lunch will be a series of tastings of foods as described by the panel participants. Tour guides will lead the group in discussion of the art exhibit as well as a neighborhood tour unlike others you may have taken in the past.
