Helsott American Pagan Metal? What does that mean? Americans pretending that they are Vikings? No, Helsott is so much more than that. Lyrically, Helsott pay homage to all things pagan, not just Scandinavian Paganism. American Mythology, Scandinavian Mythology, Germanic Mythology, Ancient Egyptology, Celtic Mythology, Greek Mythology, and all things Heathen. Paganism was and still is relevant all around the world and is the main backdrop in the Theater of Helsott. Musically, if you threw Folk Metal, Death Metal, Symphonic Metal, Thrash Metal, Classical Music and Rock n' Roll into a smelting pot and poured its contents onto the world...that world would scream Helsott. Meaning "Fatal Illness" in Teutonic, Helsott have already carved a piece of the Metal World for them-selves and plan on carving deeper with their beautifully brutal, pagan themed brand of metal for years to come.
Terranaut An ode to the misanthropic and nihilistic traditions established by late 90s Black Metal, Terranaut inverts these inspired sounds to a disarray of fast-picking melodic rhythm and lead guitar, unorthodox percussion arrangements to intrigue the listener, selective bass lines and raw traditional Black Metal-style harsh vocals to complete their style of American Black Metal. The instrumentation carries Pagan and Native lyrical substance that narrates the original people of the Western Hemisphere, the beauty of nature, and adds historical pieces to evoke a sense of thoughtfulness and emotion.
Eikthyrnir Merging the genres of Folk and Power Metal with the virtuosity and technique of Progressive Rock while occasionally dipping into the ferocity of Black Metal, Eikthyrnir creates a journey for the listener in each song. With such a vast range of influence, the band crosses genres at a moment's notice without any warning. Through this process, Eikthyrnir tells tales of epic proportions through equally magnificent songwriting. The Band's debut release Under the Old Oak Tree is a prime example of genre crossing, energetic, and beautiful music.
