INSIDE///OUT follows the character Damian from trial to prison to parole as he wears whatever mask he needs to survive. Damian is saved by the love of a good woman, and by his determination to never go back to prison. This irreverent comedy, co-created and performed by the cast of formerly incarcerated men and women,
The play is directed by Gale McNeeley, a graduate of the Neighborhood Playhouse in New York City, the Dell'Arte International School of Physical Theatre and Scuola Internazionale Dell'Attore Comico in Italy.
The only theatre company of its kind in the state, Poetic Justice Project features casts of formerly incarcerated actors in theatre that examines crime, punishment and redemption. Based in Santa Maria, Poetic Justice Project is a program of the award-winning William James Association, which provides arts instruction to people on parole and probation, prisoners, and youth at risk of incarceration.
