The biggest common denominator of successful people across all fields is their large vocabularies. Words are powerful because they help us not just effectively communicate, but as a result, effectively influence and lead.
Gain the skills to not only learn but also permanently retain powerful vocabulary, with far-reaching consequences for you in your speaking, writing and life.
This always-different, ongoing workshop is presented in a creative and engaging learning environment and features useful, fun and relevant words taken from current news and analysis publications. We dig into the roots of the language, using creative opportunities, history and various types of creative writing to use what you learn and teaches comprehensive methods to ensure they not only efficiently enter your verbal toolbox but also stay there.
About the Instructor: At the age of fourteen, Matthew Jackson's life's ambition was to be a lexicographer and shortly thereafter, while on a school field trip, he discovered he knew --just knew-- that St. Pete was where he would end up. It's been a love affair with the breathtakingly-nuanced English language and the Sunshine City ever since. His writing has been reviewed in Creative Loafing (however briefly) and he brings with him a degree in Business Marketing from the University of South Florida, a decade of experience in sales and management, and a vocabulary that even English teachers consult.
