Kids Day of Art and Nature at Pepperwood
We are excited to offer a new one-day art program for kids at Pepperwood Preserve this summer! Children will explore the natural world by participating in a fun, take-home art project. By integrating the arts with nature observation, children will learn fun and creative ways to engage with the outdoors. First we will adventure outdoors for a morning walk, where we will enjoy some of Pepperwood's natural beauty and view some of our unique flora and fauna. We will continue the day with hands-on art activities in the Dwight Center classroom, and the children will go home with fond memories and an art creation to remember the day! Presenters: Elaine Gutsch and Liana Hibbard, Pepperwood Stewards and California Naturalists NOTE: Please bring a lunch, water bottle, hat, and sunscreen. Ages: 6-10. Parental attendance is not mandatory, all adults interested in accompanying their child are invited to attend. Elaine is an artist and program manager at the Arts Council of Sonoma County. Her favorite studio is the great outdoors. Liana spent 10 years as a project manager in the urban arts before returning to school to pursue an education in environmental and urban studies.
