Wings in the Night
**Batopia: A Celebration of Bats** Maggie Hooper, educator and wildlife rehabilitator with the Sulphur Creek Nature Center, will discuss the tremendous diversity of bats and the many myths and misconceptions about these ecologically beneficial mammals. The program will include live, indigenous bats.
**Bat Ecology and Conservation in Human-Dominated Landscapes** Justin Kitzes, a Ph.D. candidate in Environmental Science, Policy and Management at the University of California, Berkeley, will discuss bat ecology and conservation in human-dominated landscapes, including a survey of what we know about how bats respond to urban, suburban, and agricultural land conversion, and how we might use this knowledge for effective conservation.
