Understanding and Identifying Sonoma County's Dragonflies
Join Kathy Biggs, author of California's first dragonfly guide, to learn about the biology and life cycle of Sonoma County's 57 species of dragonflies and damselflies. Emphasis will be on the species found at Pepperwood, including their identifying features, life cycles and behaviors. After an introductory session, we'll go out into the field to practice identification skills. Bring close-focus binoculars, shoes that can get wet, a magnifying lens if possible and lunch and water. Hats and sunscreen are recommended.
