DIRECTING CLASS WITH PATRICK KRIWANEK!
CLASS DESCRIPTION This class will explore the mind of a director throughout the process of the creation of a short or feature film, from the first second of inspiration until completion. Patrick will provide insight into when to retain complete control on a production, and when to surrender to the production itself and the team around you.
CLASS HIGHLIGHTS - The Role of the Director: What does a Director actually do? - The Vision Thing: The Inception of the Idea - Trusting your Intuition and your Worldview - Surrounding yourself with your Influence - Preparing your actors - How a Director develops a script, finds locations, selects a crew and a cast, and controls their team - How does a Director call the shots in Post Production?
INSTRUCTOR BIO Patrick Kriwanek has been a Director for 35 years and is currently the owner and dean of The Berkeley Digital Film Institute in Berkeley. He has been teaching feature production for 17 years.
Patrick has directed commercials and videos for Levis, MTV, and 200 other clients, as well as pilots for Fox Television, including "The American Muscle Cars". He looks forward to teaching this class and helping Scary Cow members develop their filmmaking skills!
