The Art of Hakoniwa with Native Plants with Mike Evans Saturday, October 10th, 9am to noon
Mike Evans, founder of the Tree of Life Nursery in San Juan Capistrano, leads a hands-on workshop in making miniature landscapes inspired by Japanese traditions. Participants create a miniature garden using carefully matched desert and native plants,rocks, twigs, gravel, and sand mulches in decorative pots. Registration Fee includes workshop materials; pot, planting medium,a selection of plants, and design elements. Each participant will take home their own Hakoniwa creation.

Mike Evans is founder and president of Tree of Life Nursery in San Juan Capistrano, California. He finds that he can "go out to the desert" anytime by just letting his imagination run wild while he is taking care of a few of these potted desert landscapes. Limit: 15 participants. Early registration is strongly recommended due to limited space. It is The Ranch's policy to keep classes an intimate size to make your 'hands-on' learning experience more enjoyable.
This class is part of the Huntington Ranch's "Ecosystem-Based Gardening Workshop Series" and is intended for the Advanced Gardener.
