Artisan Bread Baking Classes with Kamel Saci
Kamel Saci will host a series of hands-on bread baking classes at il Buco Alimentari & Vineria this summer. Learn the art of bread-making with one of NYC's finest bread bakers, then join us for an intimate aperitivo reception that includes prosecco, housemade salumi, cheese, and of course freshly baked BREAD! This is a fast-paced class covering mixing, kneading, hydration, shaping, fermentation and more! Take away recipes for making rhubarb quick bread, ciabatta, savory and seasonal fruit scones and pizza. This is a small class with only 12 people maximum, so sign up early!

Attendees are also invited to shop at il Buco Vita, Donna Lennard's home collection store one block south and enjoy a 20% of discount!



Kamel Saci
With over 16 years of experience, Kamel Saci certainly knows his bread. He grew up in the small town of Vianne, France where he fell in love with the art of baking - as if by chance -  in a small bakery in Bordeaux at the age of 19. Kamel then studied his craft at the Institut National de la Boulangerie Pâtisserie in Paris where he worked extensively with renowned baker Eric Kayser before moving to London to become the head baker at Aubaine. In 2003, he transferred to Baluard Bakery in Barcelona where he opened four other bakeries, including Crusto Panaderia.

In 2011 he came to the States to head up Le Rendez-vous Bakery in Miami, Florida.  It was during this time that he was introduced to Donna Lennard through mutual friends and agreed to come to New York City to design the bread program for the opening of il Buco Alimentari. Here, Kamel was able to return to his artisan style, working with wild yeasts, high-hydration doughs and long fermentation to fashion spectacular "crusty" breads.

DIETARY RESTRICTIONS / ALLERGIES
Please alert us at the time of booking a class if you have any dietary restrictions or allergies (i.e. vegetarian, gluten, etc.) We will share your dietary needs with Kamel Saci and do our best to accommodate your requests. However the curriculum for some baking classes cannot be revised, especially regarding gluten!.

CANCELLATION POLICY
No refunds are offered on il Buco Alimentari's classes. Students must cancel at least 72 hours before the scheduled class to receive the full value of their purchase in credit to be used towards another class.

Answer: Class itself is just under two hours, followed by a reception. You will be finished by 1pm
