Solstice Supper
Join us at the Tomato Head to celebrate the warm weather and CAC Beardsley Community Farm. Chef and owner Mahasti Vafaie will serve a unique meal using some seasonal produce from the farm. It will be a great night.
About the farm: CAC Beardsley Community Farm is Knoxville's only urban demonstration farm. The farm works to promote community-wide health in Knoxville through produce donations, community gardening, and education. Each year the farm raises over 700 pounds of produce, all of which are donated to area food kitchens, women's shelters, and farm volunteers. Additionally, Beardsley hosts twenty-nine free community garden plots and a tool-lending library for community gardeners. Throughout the school year, Beardsley sends AmeriCorps volunteers into Knox County schools to talk about healthy eating, growing vegetables, and compost.
Beardsley welcomes volunteers to the farm who would like to know more the work or just roll up their sleeves and get their hands dirty weeding, harvesting, and working on the farm. To schedule a volunteer shift or to learn more information please call (546.8446) or email the farm team (beardsleyfarm@gmail.com).
