Global Classroom: How National Security & the Internet are Connected
Educators will enjoy a private teachers' program with General Hayden and admittance to the public program, a GC resource packet, three clock hours, and a light buffet. Please register by April 26, 2011.
What do students need to know about how intelligence agencies work? What are the limits on power? How does/can an intelligence agency operate within the parameters of a democracy with civilian control of the military? How do we discuss with our students national security threats? What are the biggest national security threats to the United States today? What do students and teachers need to know about the new frontier of the internet and cybersecurity? Teachers will have a chance to ask these and other questions during an intimate teacher-only dialogue with General Michael V. Hayden. He will address what is being done to protect American military, government, and private-sector targets from cyber attacks and what must be done to ensure our national and international cybersecurity moving forward.
