Award-winning singer/songwriter (and novelist) Terry Kitchen's songs are portraits of ordinary people and emotions, captured with extraordinary compassion, honesty and humor. He has released ten CDs of original music since the 1990s, and his songs have won the Mid-Atlantic and USA Song Contests and been runner-up in the John Lennon Songwriting Contest. His novel Next Big Thing, called "a great debut novel" by the San Francisco Book Review, is set in the 1980s Boston music scene, when Kitchen's own group Loose Ties was engaged in a nightly battle for existence and glory. More on Terry at www.terrykitchen.com "One of New England's finest songwriters"-The Boston Globe "Terry Kitchen picks up where Elvis Costello and Tom Waits merge and leave off."-Vance Gilbert
Joseph Spilsbury, a native of Washington, D.C., just recently graduated from Lesley University with a MA in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and Music Therapy. Joe plays acoustic and electric guitar, piano, bass, and a range of string and percussion instruments. Joe's local rock band is Miele. He also writes music as Vaughan Gybbon and has put out a few solo albums and singles in the last few years. He recently finished an EP called Lullabies for Old Souls, yet to be released. Joe will share some of his folk-influenced and experimental acoustic songwriting for this gig. www.facebook.com/mieletheband
HeartSoulVoice is Janna Maria Fröhlich (sometimes with fiddler Joy Grimes), last heard singing backup for Deb Galiga at the Soirée in April. Janna uses harp, guitar, or keyboard to accompany her angelic wide-ranging voice and to punctuate the sensual and poignant emotions and stories of her songs in the pop, contemporary, jazz, and folk/Celtic traditions. She often invites the audience to help her write songs improvised "in the moment". In July, Janna will be performing at JP PorchFest and at Boston's Outside The Box Festival. Hear her at www.soundcloud.com/janhapharp.
