TOentertainU's FUNky 5th Bday and Scott Pemberton Trio's "Timber Rock" Album Release "Creating community connectivity through live music, art, and entertainment," is the mission of TOentertainU. The locally owned and operated event planning and promotional company is celebrating five years of business. Mark Friday, May 29th on the calendar and join the celebration at the Visual Arts Collective (VaC). The event features live funk and rock music, performance art, food and beverages. Entertainment for the evening includes performances by Scott Pemberton Trio, Pocket Candy, Steve Fulton Music, and DJ Capitan Redbeard in addition to the lovely ladies of Cairo Fusion Bellydance.
Scott Pemberton's sound is much like the vibe of his native Portland: freaky, fun and just the right amount of weird. The best way to categorize his music is with the moniker "Timber Rock," which happens to be the title of Pemberton's latest album. Members of the press have described Scott as "The Bruce Lee of Rock and Roll" Tahoe Onstage, "A modern day Jimi Hendrix" Chico Enterprise, and "A wildly creative virtuoso." -Jambase.com. The band puts on a top notch performance that captivates audiences and uplifts the energy of listeners each time they hit the stage.
Pocket Candy is a brand new Boise based project that combines elements of sexy, sultry, soulful, and funky lounge rock. The group's first public gigs were during Treefort Music Fest and the Idaho Green Fest under the lead singer's name, Shari de Vaard. Pocket Candy is rapidly amassing fans with each performance and are guaranteed to dazzle new listeners. The Boise live music scene certainly would not be the same without the 30+ years of contributions from Steve Fulton. Fulton has contributed as a performer, stage manager, and sound engineer through the Audio Lab. Steve Fulton Music (SFM) features some of Boise's best professional musicians. The band plays a mix of uplifting funk, reggae, and rock n' roll. Fulton is also a part owner of the VaC which has a full bar including a selection of local beers, coffee and espresso. Locally sourced food will be available for purchase from P. Ditty's Wrap Wagon. Featured artists during the night include Alex Vega of Boise Creative Center, Geo Handy of Handy Antler Art, and Zion Warne of Zion Art Glass. DJ Capitan Redbeard and the ladies of Cairo Fusion Bellydance will be keeping the vibe alive with a variety of funk remixes and performances pre-show and during set breaks.
People that love to funk and rock out and enjoy life to the fullest that are age twenty-one and older are invited to the VaC to connect with each other and celebrate music and art. Tickets are $10 in advance or $15 at the door for TOentertainU"s FUNky 5th Bday and release of Scott Pemberton's latest album Timber Rock.
