Dream in Green's 'Living the Dream' Anniversary Fundraiser
Celebrating Five Years of Building a More Sustainable Future!
Mingle amongst the who's-who of sustainability and environmental finance at Dream in Green's 5-Yr. Anniversary Fundraiser, 'Living the Dream!' Part of Sustainatopia 2011, and hosted by the eco-luscious Palms Hotel & Spa, the event provides 3-hours of complimentary natural hors d'oeuvres and cocktails, live music and the Annual Green Innovator Awards, recognizing South Florida's green innovators.
Monies raised through the Annual Fundraiser are used to implement the Green Schools Challenge. This year, the number of schools implementing the Green Schools Challenge program doubled and Dream in Green expects continued expansion. Over one-hundred schools now participate in the program which creates 'green teams' of teachers, school staff and students that set measurable reduction goals for decreasing energy, water and waste. The program focuses on behavior-only changes and provides students with real-world, hands-on learning experiences that foster sustainable behaviors at school, at home and within the community. Last year, 43 schools, saved the School District close to $.5M. Dream in Green is a community partner of the Miami-Dade County Public School District and Miami-Dade County's Office of Sustainability.
