FLAMENCO DANCE CLASSES FOR ADULTS
Flamenco is the dance of swirling skirts, castanets and breathtakingly fast heel stomping. Flamenco's musical and dance traditions are centuries old, blending gypsy, Moorish and Andalusian influences. Flamenco is a solo dance characterized by hand clapping, percussive footwork and intricate hand, arm and body movements.
The Instituto Cervantes of Chicago offer tailored dance programs that cater to each individual level of discipline and training, teaching technique and conditioning of the body required for flamenco.
The Instituto Cervantes welcomes beginner students that have no dance background to the more experienced ones, whether you are taking the class for your own self-fulfillment, or would you like to consider flamenco on a more professional level.
The Instructor: Lily Sie Vega began her dance studies at 7 years old. She was trained by professional flamenco dancers in Spain until the age of twenty. Lily is currently combining her work as a performer with teaching classes in Chicago, and giving workshops and master classes in Spain. She currently collaborates and stages Flamenco dance productions with Soul y Duende Flamenco Company.
Classes are conducted in Spanish and English. Small class sizes up to 14 students. We reserve the right to cancel any classes not meeting minimum participants. We cannot refund for missed classes.
