Kids Are Dying (SR)
Kids Are Dying (2014) (Director's Cut  World Premiere) (00:47:00)Michael DeLeon  Producer/Director will be screened at 10 AM.

The documentary is about drug overdose and overdose death epidemic in New Jersey which is worse than it has ever been in history.  More people have died in New Jersey from a drug overdose than in car accidents. Heroin and other opiates are misused and  abused prescription pain medication is literally killing people at record levels.  New Jersey has the purest heroin in the country and sits between two of the largest distribution points in America.  In setting out to tell this story, the filmmakers quickly learned that this problem not only exists in New Jersey, but plagues the entire country.  This is the story of how this epidemic unfolded, how it is affecting family's from every demographic and, finally, how we can stop it.  The screening will be followed by:

Panel Discussion
Matt Willis, MD, MPH  Marin County Public Health Officer
Mark Dale  Founder, Families 4 Safer Schools
Jennifer Golick  Clinical Director, Muir Wood Adolescent and Family Services
